3D Printing with Starbond CA Glue

3D Printing with Starbond CA Glue

1 min reading time

When working with materials such as PLA, ABS, or PETG to bond 3D-printing parts, our medium viscosity CA glue works well. The key advantage is that it has a cure time of about 10 seconds, allowing you a small window to fix misaligned parts, while also curing fast enough not to keep you waiting. If the parts don't easily lock into each other, you can of course use an accelerator to get an almost instant bond.

Also, to ensure no trouble with the CA sticking, we advise to scratch up the plastic surfaces to increase surface energy. Light sanding with sandpaper grit sizes 120 - 220 should do.

Pro tip: Any spills on other parts of the surface easily cure and can be daunting to remove. We therefore encourage the use of microtips that we supply with each bottle of CA glue when working on 3D printing. These ensure precision, so little or no mess on your beautiful pieces!
